Development Programmes | Career Counselling | Mentoring Skills | NHS LQF Leadership and Management Development Programme design and delivery – from initial idea through to delivery.Whether it is for the board, clinicians, aspiring directors, middle managers or new trainees, I have delivered everything from short courses lasting a few days to programmes made up of multiple modules, lasting over several years. All programme content is worked through carefully with my clients and is specific to their requirements. Drawing on relations I have with other individuals working in the management development field, NHS organisations, British and European Universities and management consultancies, I put together varied and high quality programmes. For example, on recent programmes, sessions have included individual needs assessment, expert inputs on Foundation Trusts and handling relations with the media, visits to the EU in Brussels and health facilities in Hungary, preparation for job search and selection, debates on patient participation and how diagnostic and treatment groups are being used in the Dutch health system. Clients for whom I have worked include: Acute Trusts, Medical and Dental Deaneries, The Ambulance Service Association, Primary Care Trusts, The NHS Finance Graduate Scheme, NHS Finance Staff Development. Individual Career Counselling and MentoringThis is for clients who have a need to reflect on their current development path and to engage in discussions that focus on them as individuals. They want to learn how to harness their past and current experiences to benefit their development and planning for the future. I assist clients to focus on the identification and development of individual strengths, on the unlocking of previously unrecognised or unused potential, and to identify their most appropriate personal and career development path. This work is entirely tailored to the needs of individuals and can range from assessment and development of aptitudes, skills and behaviours, to longer-term coaching during career transition, to job search and selection preparation. Mentoring Skills TrainingWorking with my colleagues in the Mentoring Development Group, we can draw on over 10 years’ experience of providing a theoretically well-grounded, skills-based programme that enhances individual’s ability to mentor others and contributes to an organisation’s own developmental resources. The skills learnt on the programme are highly transferable to a variety of situations including management meetings, strategy reviews and clinical consultations. The enhanced insight into oneself and appreciation of other’s preferences and perceptions can be of value in all aspects of life. The length of programmes can vary from four to six days and can be provided for unidisciplinary groups or for a variety of people drawn from across an organisation. NHS Leadership Qualities Framework 360 Feedback FacilitationAs an accredited feedback facilitator, I can offer individuals and teams feedback on this well-regarded 360 degree instrument. The feedback can be provided as part of an on-going development programme, one-to-one mentoring or career counselling relationship or as a one-off session. |
